Tour HighlightsJoin John Trager, curator of the Desert Garden & Collections, for a SCHS members-only tour of The Huntington’s newly renovated Desert Conservatory. Take a look at the succulents now growing there and hear what went into bringing portions of the Desert Collections back into this space.
John has worked at The Huntington since 1983. This small-group tour is a chance to hear his stories, ask questions, and learn about the collection from someone who has helped care for it for more than four decades.
Bring a picnic and stay for the evening talk! After the tour, enjoy a brown bag picnic outdoors at Banta Hall from 6:00 to 7:00 p.m., before John’s presentation, “Horticultural Happenings in the Huntington’s Desert Garden,” which is open to all.
Date: Thursday, November 12, 2026, from 5:00 to 6:00 p.m. Location: 1151 Oxford Rd, San Marino, CA 91108 Meeting Point: The Huntington’s main visitor entrance Parking: West Lot.
