CITRUS PRUNING WORKSHOP WITH FRUITSTITUTE
Sunday, July 11 from 9:30am to 12:00pm
Joanna Glovinsky and Fruitstitute have created this unique opportunity to gain hands-on experience in the art of citrus tree care for the home orchard.
The workshop will be hosted in the Citrus Grove at Arlington Garden in Pasadena, a water-wise habitat garden that fosters a diverse ecosystem by employing regenerative gardening techniques first used by indigenous and traditional gardeners before the advent of industrialized agriculture.
The workshop will begin with a discussion on seasonal care of citrus trees, including how to assess tree health, biology and physiology of citrus, and when they need what. The discussion will be followed by a one hour pruning session where participants will gain hands-on experience on how to prune citrus using the Arlington Garden citrus grove as our classroom. Join us to learn how to take care of your backyard citrus and help the Arlington Garden citrus trees become more fruitful than ever!
THIS WORKSHOP IS LIMITED TO 15 PARTICIPANTS. Current SCHS Members will have the first opportunity to register from July 1-4. Public registration will open on July 5. One registration per person (guests must register separately). This event will have a waitlist - if you are registered, but cannot attend, please contact us immediately.
