I'm sure Sandy will have lots of pictures of weird and wonderful succulents to accompany her talk this month. I'm a fan of strange plants, too, and one of my favorites are "Starfish Flowers"; plants in the Stapelia and Huernia genera. As a bonus to their otherworldly-looking flowers, they attract flies as pollinators, so they smell like carrion! What kind of succulents do you like to grow?

Hi again (yes, it's me that creates the Sharing Secrets posts). Unfortunately, these posts are capped at 50 kilobytes, so you won't be able to post pictures in the online Sharing Secrets forum. I tried to shrink an image down that far, but it turned to mush. If you want to get your reply with images printed in the newsletter, you can send it to our editor, Sabine Steinmetz at gardensbysabine@aol.com  Otherwise, I'm afraid we will only be able to describe our favorite plants here.
